Do You Embrace Change? It All Depends...
Has your workplace ever undertaken a change management initiative? Was it a success or did it turn into a nightmare and in the end create more problems than positive results?
If you want to change something in your business and make a success of it, you have to include everyone in the journey. If you tell everyone concerned the why, what, who, when and how of the change, then you have a much better chance of managing the change to a successful outcome.
Fear of change is born in the uncertainty and the unknown. It's all well and good to say embrace change, but for most people change is something that leaves them feeling unsettled and scared for their future. If you are initiating the change, you are excited because you feel empowered but unless you communicate all the aspects of the change to everyone involved, then you will not get the same engagement in the change process.
The change platform needs to be built with forging strong relationships to build trust. Share the journey, communicate the process and listen to your people. The chances of success will be far more likely.
Build an environment of trust and shared goals and change will be seen in a more positive light, with a greater chance of the desired outcomes.
What's your experience of change in the workplace?
